@mrbee: Oh I get embarrassed with the public misbahaving as well. Maybe something to distract them? Like counting how many red flowers they see? Or see who can find a (random) object first? Singing songs also works for my girls...

@BabyBoecksMom: Coloring definitely helps! The separate rooms thing is harder because they share a room now, and also because they always want to be together!!

Honestly I can live with the naughtiness when it's just us at home, but when we're out in public... I get embarrassed really easily in general. So when they are up to their joint antics in public, it drives me crazy!

@mrbee: HA! I had a thread yesterday asking if your kids are different when they're together vs. apart. I see I'm not the only one... and I'm sure it's MUCH worse when you're solo. I would usually say to put on a movie when you're really desperate and need a few min, but I don't think that's an option for you now. What about coloring, or giving them separate things to play with and put them in separate rooms?

Balloons? Make up a hopscotch game?

My two kids are reasonably well-behaved when they're alone. But for some reason when they are together, they "inspire" each other to be naughty and to never, ever listen. It is draining my internal battery at a prodigious rate!!

It's become a bigger issue recently because the kids are spending sooo much time together (previously they mostly had weekends together, when both of us parents were around to police it). I'm not sure how to manage it though, as my wife and I are both spending more time solo-ing with the kids and this is harder to police when it's two-on-one. Plus, before we would make sure to have a lot of 1:1 time but that's a lot harder when you're solo'ing.

Any suggestions for getting two siblings to both listen while you're solo'ing?
