@gilmoregirl: I think if you used longer socks it might stay on pretty ok! maybe if it is pretty raw you can bandage it up a bit, first.

or maybe something like wrapping his elbows in a tension bandage?

my boys both army crawled for a LONG time and I cringed every time I looked at their poor toes....

@tysonja: ooh good idea. It might not stay but it's worth a try.

@mrsb2912: glad to hear that it didn't just keep getting worse. His one arm looks so raw. I hope his skin adjusts soon

we didn't have a problem with elbows, but both my sons' big toes got kinda scraped up, along with mangled toe nails. I just tried to put socks on them, but it wasn't very hot here either time.

maybe try something totally random like, cut the toes off of two pairs of baby socks and slide them up around his elbows, like cuffs? :) not sure if they would stay on, but maybe it would help!

B army crawled for months. It just took some time to get the skin thicker. It never bothered her and didn't take long to build up the skin

Did he/she get rug burn and did you do anything to prevent or treat it?

My little guy figured out how to army crawl two days ago and now his little elbows have rug burn. It doesn't seem to bother him at all, but I'm afraid it will get worse? It's still a little too warm for him to be in long sleeves all the time...he runs pretty hot.

Did anything work for you?
