I would let her fuss it out. If it turns to full on crying, you can make a decision about what to do (making a plan ahead of time, maybe), but at 9 months we are pretty much over non-hungry wake-ups around here--and she's gotten much better at putting herself back to sleep than we are.

I think by consistently picking her up and cuddling, you're sending the message that she will continue to get that if she wakes up....I would leave her in the crib as much as possible, and soothe her in whatever way you choose, either by shushing, patting, singing etc. You can stay in the room or leave after a few minutes, depending on what method you choose...

How do you eliminate those wake ups? DD consistently wakes up 2 to 3 hours after being put down for bed. She does want to play, she doesn't want to eat, she just wants to cuddle; which is sweet but the cuddle has to last at least 30 minutes long & always always interrupts my closing/cleaning the house & bedtime routine. I'm not sure how to phase this wake up out! She is 6 months.
