X sleeps from 7pm to 6:30-8:00am every night. Once he was done teething and got a full month in without being sick, his sleep has drastically improved. He has had a 7pm bedtime since he was 3 months old, and he has always slept better when we stick to the bedtime. When we don't, he sleeps worse and wakes up earlier. And any variance in the bedtime throws his sleep off for days. Earlier is better.

LO's bedtime is usually around 7:45pm, and he generally sleeps till about 7am. There a few nights where we'll get behind, and he'll go to bed after 8pm (sometimes as late as 8:30 if we're out to dinner or something like that), but we find that he typically sleeps better with an earlier bedtime. 7:45pm (and no later than 8:00) seems to be the best bedtime for now at least.

Our bedtime has naturally sort of moved up to 7ish. We started doing a dream feed around 6-7 weeks, (when their bedtime was still 8pmish), and shortly thereafter, they started extending their sleep. Our 3am wakeup slowly moved back about 15 minutes each day, and now they're waking up between 4:30-5 for a quick paci, then going back down again for a couple hours before waking for the day between 6:15 and 6:45.
Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately?), their naps got shorter when they started STTN. That led to the earlier bedtime; it became clear that they were DONE by 7pm.

When my LO was 4.5 months, his bedtime was around 6:30-7pm. And no, he didn't STTN... he woke 1-2 times to nurse back then, between 2-5am. He was exclusively breastfed 1-6 months, started solids at 6 months, mixed in formula at 8 months and stopped BF at 10 months. He didn't STTN until 7-8 months thanks to the starting of solids and chicken porridge :)

I didn't mind it at all back then (waking 1-2 times to BF), although now looking back, I didn't know how I could do it! Now at almost 14 months, on the weekends, he can sleep from 7pm-9am...! I guess he's too tired from the week and he's catching up on the weekend.

I think it is a good habit to sleep at an early hour. They will eventually sleep 12 hours straight, and you'd hate to have him wake at 10am when you need to get him ready at 7am to go to daycare!

I put DD down between 6:30 and 7:30, and she will sleep for 8 hours feed then go back to sleep until about 7am. For me, her getting more sleep at night, ie 12 hours, is more important that her sleeping through. I would much rather put her to bed earlier so she can sleep longer that put her to bed later just so she slept through completely.

I had the same worry when I started putting DD down early, but people aren't lying when they say that babies sleep better with an earlier bedtime. Totally counter-intuitive, right? Our daughter sleeps 7:30 - 7:30 on average.

My lo is in bed around 7-7:15 and we wake her at 7:15 am. I did a dreamfeed until almost 8 months when I started feeding her solids 3x a day (I felt she needed the extra feed). She is 9 months now and sleeps through. I probably could've weaned earlier but I did not mind.

@Mrs. Chen: we actually didn't formally sleep train. ds went thru the usual nb sleep cycles...around 6 weeks we reswaddled him to transition sleeping in pnp and crib from a newborn lounger/cosleeping (tsk tsk), we followed a loose eat play sleep cycle and his nb bedtime of 11/12 slowly moved up to 830 during the second month. he settled into a pretty decent routine of sleeping 830-230 nurse then back down for another 4 hours or so.... then the third month we had a random couple of weeks of 2+ wakeups. On random night during week 11, I unswaddled him, then the following week, we/he nightweaned, a few days later he STTN (12 weeks), he slept 7-7 pretty consistently for three weeks when we hit the 4 mth regressino for a few days, but since then he's been sleeping 730-630 give or take a half hour.

he's been a good sleeper and we're extremely fortunate. i know that during the transitions, what helped was turning off the monitor volume and only going in when we heard him whimper from the room. all the other times, he'd always put himself back to sleep. a couple nights of paciing/a couple nights of him finding his thumb... we'll get random early wakeups sometimes if he goes to bed too late. but i think he's naturally fallen into this night sleep cycle.

We put our LO's (16 weeks) down between 7-7:30pm. At 9:45-10pm, we dream feed them, which usually gets us to about 6 or 6:30am. They do tend to rouse around 5am, but they'll take a paci and go right back to sleep.
Sleeping in is a thing of the past for us, but I'll take early wake-up calls if it means they STTN!

She is asleep at or before 7pm every night. She gets up maybe once a night. She has never been up for the day before 5:30am. She would normally sleep past 6 if we let her. Last night she slept from 6-6:30. Amazing.
