We have FPIES and our avoid/trigger list is extensive. Usually easier to just say what can be tollerated than avoided. When breastfeeding I did TED, down to 3 foods (quinoa, carrot, broccoli) and slowly adding them back in. When he self weaned at 21 months we were only up to about 15 foods, 4 of them baking chemicals and not really foods.

Anyway we have not reintroduced anything to LO's diet or mine while nursing. Our first reintroduction won't be until 2.5-3 years as an in-hospital oral food challenge (OFC), but that will more likely get pushed back now that he may have EoE on top of FPIES.

We diagnosed MSPI at 2 weeks old and did TED for a while.

1. Have you introduced anything yet? We introduced about every 3 months. We started with soy

2. If you did, what happened? He got fussy and bad poops. We pulled back

3. When will you try again - After a particularly bad Gastro appointment we did an allergy test. He reacted to soy but not milk so we reintroduced milk and completely avoid soy. Now he is perfect. This was in November of last year.

@MamaMoose: oh i feel ya! i am 5lbs under my 'wedding weight' and I don't mind. The no take out and wanting to comfort eat is really really tough sometimes. I miss my cadbury mini eggs this year!

@littlebittyhouse: Aw thanks! Honestly it's not that bad once you get the hang of it. It just gets BORING! The bonus though is that I'm ten pounds below pre pregnancy weight and still losing. Vanity is wonderful motivation to stick with it when I'm having a frustrated day! The only time I get really frustrated is when I've had a terrible day at work and I'm too exhausted to feel like cooking because getting take out is pretty much impossible.

M is 4 months and I tried some Feta recently (because some babies react to cow's milk but not goats milk) and she's had some specs of green in her diaper so no more dairy of any kind for a while. I might try again at 6 months and see how it goes. But at this point I've pretty much gotten used to the diet (she is not only intolerant to dairy and soy but also to wheat, eggs, nuts and fish).

As as spin off from the good news @winniebee shared (YAY!)

If your LO has a dairy/soy intolerance:

1. Have you introduced anything yet?
2. If you did, what happened?
3. When will you try again

We are MSPI and the last time I had dairy by accident LO was only 4mo and had terrible gas pains! At about 7mo I had soy in a supplement and he had an eczema flare up on his back.

Now at 9mo I am not sure if I should wait or try again.
