I only limit it in the sense that we don't bring it places (except the doctor or to sleep-overs). It stays home and Xander gives it a hug and a kiss before he leaves in the morning. But at home, he carts it around with him all over the house. I don't really care. My only real limit at home is keeping it away from food so it doesn't get dirty. He'll either leave it somewhere when we're eating or have it draped over the back of his chair and he knows he has to wash his hands and face before he can touch it again after eating.

do you limit their use with it?

DS1 has a very strong attachment to his loveys (A&A blankets, A&A security blankets).

He's only used it for sleep, but since he dropped his nap a few months ago, he's definitely wanting to bring the blankets out during the day time too.

I have one at his school for "emergencies," my mom freely lets him have it when he's over at her place, at home he's usually good about leaving it in his room.

I'm not sure if or when we should get rid of them, or when we really buckle down for only nighttime sleep use. (This coming from a 32 yo who still sleeps with her "lovey.").
