Side braids tend to stay together better for me because the length isn't getting rubbed under your back all night.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;When I was little I constantly had short hair because I'd get lazy for one day, and then be unable to get a brush through it. At night rather than toss and turn my whole body (or maybe in addition) I'd move my head back and forth on the pillow. It would create terrible, terrible tangled mats right up next to my scalp.

<description>&#60;p&#62;most nights, I leave it down.  As long as her hair is combed and well conditioned the knots are fairly minimal.  We just got a trim this weekend because knots were getting bad (second trim of her hair at just over 3!)
