My son hated tummy time when we put him flat on his tummy on the floor. But he tolerated it much better when we used the boppy because it wasn't AS hard to lift up his head. Have you tried using a boppy?

C hates it too. She's only five weeks but just not a fan. I read somewhere to do it on the changing pad after every diaper change, just for a minute or however long shell tolerate it, so we started getting super short little spurts in that way. And we do it on our chests (though when its on my chest she usually just finds exactly where my nipple is through a bra and shirt and just starts mouthing on that.)

I know they say not to do it when she is fussy, tired, or just ate, but that's pretty much her whole day. And the rare times when she is totally chill I hate ruining with tummy time! We since a stupid made up song about tummy time when we do it and Dh said it probably sounds like horror music to her by now!

Eta: we wear her in the moby a ton so I feel like she isn't laying flat on her back that much, and she holds her was up pretty well then so I feel like that's helping too.

LO hated tummy time with a passion. We did an hour a day of it. 4 times a day for 15 minutes. I just got used to the screaming. The play mirror helps too.

P despised tummy time to the point that she started rolling from tummy to back at 2 weeks old & I couldn't get her to stay on her tummy at all after that (she'd just flip herself over). We did tummy time on my chest & legs to help her get to where she could hold her head up & such, but really it just took awhile for her to start liking it. :/

I did multiple short sessions as well...like 2 to 3 min 3 x a day. He liked it more if I did it on the changing pad for some reason!

LO hated tummy time until she could roll. We did multiple short sessions and tried to do them in the morning when she was less fussy. We also gradually lengthened the time she could cope with it by letting her fuss a little at the end of each session before picking her up. It took a long time.

Do you have a play mirror? That really helped. LO loves to look at herself and the room and once we started using the mirror for tummy time we got her to stay on her tummy for decent lengths.

How long do you make them do it? I know she needs more than 2 min a day at 14 weeks. Everything I've read says not to have them do it while upset, having just eaten, or sleepy. She is always upset during tummy time though. She just shrieks and kicks, then flips to her back and we try again... And her mood is ruined for the rest of her awake time. Thoughts or suggestions?
