The other night, my husband set off our smoke detectors while making dinner. My son had been asleep (for the night) for about 30 minutes. I almost KILLED my husband. But the baby didn't even stir. We do have a humidifier going in his room and it's great at muffling noise. But the alarms were SO LOUD.

Naps are a little different - he seems to wake to noise on occasion. But in general, he's been a pretty sound sleeper for as long as I can remember.

DD has always been a light sleeper, but I'm curious if it's because she's that way (taking after me) or if it's because we didn't make enough noise when she was younger.

If your baby is a heavy sleeper, have they always been like that?
