It doesn't happen that often because we usually stay until they are happy and they usually run right in and have the usual requests (to say goodbye 3 times, or to declare that we will pick her up "aaaafter"). But when it does happen, I am sad all day and when I'm finally back to pick them up I run up the stairs. Then they usually ignore me or refuse to leave. Hah.

No because I know she only cries for a minute and she's always super happy when I pick her up. So she just gets emotional when leaving me, but it's not an issue of her not liking school.

No, because I know he's fine by the time I'm in the car. I do think about him on the drive to work, though, and if it's really bad I call when I get to work just to check in. He's normally like "BYE!!!" (Like..."leave already lady!") though, so it's a rare thing...

Not really because I know he cries for like two minutes and then ends up having an awesome day. When we pick him up he doesn't want to leave. So I don't dwell on it.

I drop DS off pretty early (6:30am) so he's normally still sleeping. I do feel bad having to though, and I do think about him all day. Especially when he's not having the best day or night.

Yup. We had a rough drop off this morning and it's been on my mind. She typically can turn it around and be okay.

I hate bad drop offs and we've been having a lot of them. I feel pretty confident that he gets over it fast, but I still think about him. It was really bad this morning. He was in hysterics. :(

I don't do dropoff, but sometimes J cries when I leave for work and I do feel really bad about it :(
Already have working parent guilt but the "mama, please don't go today" is awful. Was much easier when he was tiny and couldn't tell me how he felt with words!

I used to drop off crying kids at daycare without a second thought, confident that the teachers would restore their moods and everyone would have a great day. But these days I feel really close to the kids and it hasn't been as easy. My kids were sad at dropoff this morning, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them all day!

OMG what's happening to me, I'm becoming a total softy!! If your LO is sad at dropoff, do you think about them the rest of the day?
