I'm a smidge under 5'7" and DH is 6'2". A daughter my height, or son his height, would be fine. I think a son my height might wish to be taller, and a daughter his height might have a hard time finding clothes, etc. But generally I think we're just taller than average people and our children will probably mirror us. DH's entire family are giant - his cousins range in height from 6'3 to 7'1 (all boys) and even his mum (MIL) is 6'1. The shortest person in their family is DH's sister who is 5'9, everyone else is over six feet. I'll be happy if DD is as tall or taller than me, I just hope she stays under 6' to make it a bit easier with clothes shopping! My husband did alright for himself as a short guy (being in the military helped I'm sure) but he definitely doesn't want Owen to have to deal with the stigma of being a man on the shorter side.
