I mostly give him sips of water from a small glass (open) cup. But I do want to get a straw cup soon for him to try out.<br /> How long will your LO be with your sister? She had good luck with the zoli cup at 6 months. It is a great cup for young babies bc they don't get a ton of liquid at once. She got a sippy in her stocking at Xmas when she was 4 months and could drink BM out of that right away. She's 7.5 months now and handle her sippy well without any help from us. So i've been offering him some sippy cups with the soft spouts as well as straw cups. He's accidentally swallowed water from both but does not seem to "get" that you drink out of them. </p> <p>If your LO never drank from a bottle, when and how long did it take him/her to learn how to drink from a sippy or straw? DH and I are going out of state to a wedding and my sister (who lives in that state) offered to babysit both my kids for me. I"m just worried that she'll be dealing with a crying/crabby baby if I don't get him to learn how to drink from anything other than me. And I won't be able to enjoy the wedding either. </p> <p>Help/advice/tips? </p>
