I hope we can stick to that. If I were to let her stay in bed with us once, she would expect it all the time, and on top of that we have another baby coming very soon. Edit to add, the other thing is that if she slept with us she would get up at 5 when dh's alarm goes off (and half the time he forgets to turn it off on his days off too) and I bet she wouldn't go back to sleep... She has to sleep at least 4-5 hours in her room, not that she understands how much time that is. She started climbing into our bed but likes to sleep at the foot of our bed against the end part. We don't really notice bc we are heavy sleepers. He was happy to see Daddy and snuggled both of us. All very sweet but it became clear he was not going back to sleep with us so I asked if he wanted to go back to the crib and he said yes. DS just turned 2 and sleeps in his toddler bed in our room (we live in a one bedroom apartment). He will fall asleep at 9PM, then DH and I come to bed around 10:30PM. We never hear or feel him climb into bed with us, but I always wake up around 3AM and he's snuggled right next to me. I love it and am fine with him sleeping in the bed with us, my DH is not a fan. Before 5am he can stay in our bed for a few minutes and have some cuddles but then he has to go back to his bed. After 5am he can stay in our bed.
