My LO very rarely spits up. When she was younger it would be once every day or so usually and it has decreased since then (she is 6.5 months now). She definitely spit up more when I had dairy in my diet, so I have cut it out for the most part. She wasn't ever upset when she spit up though.

A few months ago my lo would full on throw up his feedings (occasionally). He's been on Prevacid forever and now he spit up a tablespoon or so most days. Soooo much better!

My LO was a happy chucked who would spit up after most feeds but it didn't seem to bother her!

Our spit up depends on the day. She gets Zantac three times a day but I honestly think she has out grown her reflux. Some days just has a little spit up and others is big amounts every time she eats.

@travellingbee: once we solved our mspi problem I was able to tell just how bad M's reflux was. Spitting up us fine as long as they're happy and gaining weight but she was clearly in pain every time she spit up. Prilosec worked wonders for us while zantac didn't help for long. Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah, he was gaining weight so we didn't do too much about it for a while (doctor did put him on Zantac eventually which helped only minimally) but I just felt so bad when he'd be screaming and the stuff would be coming out of his nose! I could tell he wanted to be happy because he is such a happy-natured little boy! I'm so glad that we seem to have found a solution!

Mine is a volcano. Spits up everywhere, constantly, all day, everyday. But she isn't in a bad mood about it so we never changed anything to prevent it. Doc and LCs all said it was normal and if she wasn't upset, there was nothing that needed to be done. She's 7 months old and starting solids helped a teeny tiny bit.

So my DS is 3 1/2 months old and we think we just discovered that he has a milk allergy (or possibly MSPI?) He is a fairly happy baby but spits up/projectile vomits like CRAZY. I mean, constantly. And often that would be accompanied with screaming and crying. SO, I have eliminated dairy from my diet starting this week and it has already made a huge difference. But because he has always been a prolific spitter, I have no idea what "normal" baby spit up is like.

So now I am wondering.... if your baby spits up.... how often? when? (like right after eating or hours later) how much?
