It wasn't that bad honestly. Crying at dropoff for the first month ish but she would stop once we left. Took her a while to learn to nap well and it was never as good as home. But at home things were fine and she slept well. I hope it is not bad for you! It's been hard. He cries everytime I drop him off. But he is fine after a few mins. He only goes part time(3 days). I was home with him the rest of the week and now that I went back to work he is with my MIL the other 2 days. He still cries when I drop him off with her but not quite as much. </p> <p>Our daycare has cameras and I've watched him on them and I have no reason the believe it's the center neglecting him or anything as to why he cries. </p> <p>He naps terrible there. They sleep on the floor on mats so he rarely sleeps more than 30 mins. (Though he only sleeps about an hour at home/ at MILs) so we have actually noticed better nighttime sleep. We didn't notice any difference in her nighttime sleep. She was fine the first few weeks with dropoff. Very little drama if any! </p> <p>After 6 weeks at daycare, we went on a 2 week vacation and came back to MAJOR DRAMA!!! It has now been 10 weeks since we came back from vacation (and she is now full time) and it is still daily crying/clinging to me/flinging herself on the floor at drop off. It's awful! Luckily, she stops within 1-2 minutes of me walking out the door. Occasionally, there is less drama if we come and it is snack time, so she is distracted by snack. </p> <p>Every kid seems to be different. I hope your LO has an easy transition! My 19 month old is starting part time next week and I'm expecting drama but I don't know in what capacity. Will it affect his nighttime sleep? How long should I endure the crying before I investigate whether the problem is the daycare center? Any tips on making it easier? I let him watch the Daniel Tiger school episode where the theme is "Grown ups come back" a couple times a week and I talk to him about how fun school will be but I'm not sure he understands. TIA! </p>
