@Mrs Green Grass: yea I don't know. In the last week she started refusing to let me rock her to sleep at all, ever. Which is hard because then I have no choice but to let her cry when she wakes MOTN now and when she wakes early from a nap she is just up... but on the other hand the lack of control is sort of making me feel more "meh" about it. I know there is nothing I can do so I just need to roll with it I guess!

@Mrs Green Grass: oh we are ridiculously protective of her nap stuff lol. Her room has blackout shades taped to the windows so it is DARK DARK and a dohm on high + we pretty much don't use the floor she's on or the one right under her at all while she is sleeping to avoid anything waking her. She's always been super sensitive to light and noise. She pretty much didn't nap until I figured out the dark/white noise thing.

It sounds like she's just having trouble settling herself after waking a bit. We didn't darken my lo's room for way too long and that helped. Also sound machine. My lo still sleeps 2-3 hours at 2.5.

We get 1.5-2 hours typically, but anythinf from 1-3 is possible. At night she sleeps from 7:30/8 until anytime around 7-7:30 in the AM.

I do find occasionally she will get up and fuss/protest (both mid nap and at like 5:30/6 but if I let her be she goes back down after a few minutes.

DS is turning 2 next week and he usually takes a 2-2.5 hour nap. He loves taking 3 hour naps, but I had to stop letting him do that because then he wants to stay up late and it was taking him forever to fall asleep at night.

His typical schedule is:

7:00 wake up
1:00-3:30 nap (I usually have to wake him up)
8:30 - bed

@Mae: Most days he does 2 - 2.5 hours but there is the occasional day that he only does 1 - 1.5. These days he usually sleeps on the car ride home or is cranky at bedtime. Like most things at this age I feel like every week is different and we just go with the flow of it!

Usually 2. But sometimes 2.5 or 3. It's rarely less. Sorry yall are struggling! We don't go down until 1....do you think maybe pushing back nap time 30 minutes would help? My LO wakes around the same time as yours and she has been on one nap since 13 ish months.

Typically no more than 1.5hrs. Occasionally (like twice a month) I'll get 2+ hours and I and I'm so stoked when that happens! Your LO doesn't sound like she has high sleep needs.

That said, as my older LO got older, his naps got longer. He's now 4.5 and still takes naps on the weekend. He easily sleeps 3 hours!

@Mae: for us the short answer is no. He usually sleeps 1.5h hours and has done so since he started transitioning to one nap at 9 months and still does so at 27 months with a freak longer or shorter nap some days.
Have you tried leaving her in her crib after her first wake-up to see wether she will fall back asleep? Maybe she would and you'd get a longer nap?

21 months and she sleeps for 1-2hrs. I wake her at the 2hr point because it's 230pm by then and I still want her to go to bed at 7!

@mae: how much wake time is there between wake up and the nap? Could you maybe stretch it out a bit to see if that makes her sleep longer?

My son's been on 1 nap since 10 months!! He's crazy.
At daycare he tends to nap between 1.5-2hrs, and at home usually 2+ ... sometimses 3.5hrs if he's catching up after a long week. Every now and again he'll wake up after an hour and no amount of convincing will get him to sleep longer!

We switched at 12 months also. At first he did like an hour (he was always a 30 minute napper). Now at 16 months he does anywhere from 1.5-2.5 and sometimes a bit more.

He goes down at 12:30 and went through a phase of waking up at 2 on the dot as well. I usually let him cry for up to 10 minutes (if he wakes up crying he is usually still sleepy!) and he often falls back asleep.
