Naps have been amazing since moving to the toddler room! I don't understand how they get all of the kids to sleep but they do. Now he sleeps from about 12:30-2:30/3 at daycare and from about 11:30/12-2:30/3 on the weekends. It's awesome.

12-2pm or so most days. If we take him anywhere in the car between 10:30-12 he will fall asleep so we try to avoid that if possible.

@MamaMoose: R naps bad now cause she doesn't want to miss anything. It will be interesting to see how she does when the lights are out and everyone is supposed to be napping at the same time. That is the scheduled nap time, not sure how much the kids actually nap though. I don't think she is ready for one nap.....

@Smurfette: If your day care can get an entire room full of kids to ACTUALLY nap that long... I will quit my job and move to Atlanta right now so we can sign up!!! M naps so badly at school. She likes to go around and "help" the other babies fall asleep and then she thinks it's her own time to play by herself with the teachers!!!

My son transitioned to one nap around 20 months. If he's at home, the nap is normally between 1 and 3. At school, it's about an hour, give or take.

We do our activity in the mornings on the weekend. On Saturday, we go to soccer at 10 and are home for lunch then his nap. On Sunday, we go grocery shopping and to the car wash (he loves the car wash) and then we stop by my parent's house. We may have lunch out, but we're always home for the nap.

I put the baby down between 12 and 1 (depends when we get home from our morning adventure) and they will sleep between 2-3.5 hours. Sometimes they sleep 4+ hours but that is typically on a Monday after not napping all weekend.

She naps from 12-3 or anytime between 12 and 4. We do everything we want to do in the morning expecting that naptime will take up the afternoon. If we need to do anything later, we go after she wakes up. Naptime, like bedtime, in our house is sacred.

@MamaMoose: he's been on one nap since 11 months; it started out around 11 and slowly shifted back, it's been at 1 since 13 months. Usually 1-3. He's never been a carseat napper, but every once in a while he will surprise us but (knock on wood) it's always ten minutes or less and we're home, and he eats and then goes down a little later.

I try to be in the car and headed home by 12:00. I hear you, it's almost impossible to have him wake up, have a snack, and get out the door to do anything much before it's dinner time!

Usually starts around 1 (give or take 30 minutes) and lasts anywhere from 1.5-3 hours (usually closer to 2). Though some days, he has skipped nap completely. He can fight it hard!

When we are out and about on the weekends, he usually just naps in the car.

He does about 12-2pm. Sometimes he'll fall asleep earlier but his naps are usually 2 hours (at home and daycare). We run errands in the early morning (like 8am) when we can and make sure we're headed home by 11, because a 10 min snooze in the car doesn't really mess him up.
If we do a day trip (1hr + in the car), he usually ends up doing two naps - on the way there and on the way back.

We've just started the one nap schedule this week. Right now I put her in her crib at noon and then she fights it until 1pm, when I get her out and put her in her stroller where she will sleep until 3pm. The whole afternoon is a write-off  But I figure once we find our feet, it will be more like noon until 2pm, which isn't so bad as the whole morning and most of the afternoon will be totally free.

We just changed to one nap and I have to have things to keep her busy or she whines at me because she's tired. Though if she gets a 5 minute cat nap in the car around 10 or so, she'll still go to sleep. I aim for. 12-1 nap start depending on when she woke up. Definitely do lunch beforehand!

M naps from 1-3 (sometimes 4 if we're lucky!). She's been on one nap for a little over a month and she seems so used to it that she's not falling asleep in the car anymore. That definitely makes things easier! I do find it hard to cut that big chunk out of the afternoon, but napping at 1 has definitely worked better for us than 12 would. It's pretty much impossible to do anything after the nap other than a quick trip to Target or the playground

Currently he naps from 11/1130 for about 1.5 hours. I am hoping that it moves back to 1-3 or so because right now is really tough with lunch and classes.

I have just been trying to only go places that are close by in the morning, otherwise, he will fall asleep in the stroller; same thing for going out around 3 or 4--he will fall asleep again if I'm not careful.
