Its hard being a working parent. If I ever thought my daughter was contagious I would keep her home not only so she didn't infect other kids but also so she could get her rest.

It depends. If it is something like an allergy related runny nose then of course my son will still go to daycare. If he is running a low grade fever when teething, then he still goes to daycare. If he is actually sick, then no, he stays home.

This one is tough! I am a major germaphobe so even when I see kids coughing at our music class I get paranoid that Little M will get sick. We're not at the daycare route yet, but I don't think I'd send Little M if she had a runny nose.

Yes, my daughter has had a runny nose but no fever and she has definitely gone to day care all week. It's not like the teachers won't notice that she has a runny nose so there is nothing to hide. During the winter, just about every kid in there has a runny nose, especially since they go outside twice a day and their noses run. Stuff that that isn't a big deal to me but if she was really sick (like with a fever) then I would not try to pull a fast one on them. They would notice pretty quickly and send her home anyway. And I'd rather her be home and properly recoup.

When Charlie was a little sick once, Bee posted to a local listserv asking if people still sent their kid to daycare with a runny nose.

The overwhelming number of parents replied that you should just dose your LO up with Infant Tylenol and drop them off at daycare without telling the daycare providers anything! I guess when you are a working parent, you don't have a lot of options...

How about you: if your LO was just a little sick, would you still send them to daycare?
