One of my siblings and his family live overseas, so my boys haven't even met them yet and I haven't met my youngest niece. :crying: We try to skype, but it's really hard with our boys' bedtime and their morning being the same time and vice versa. Hopefully, as they get older, we'll be able to Skype more and they'll start recognizing them!

my bro lives 3.5 hours away. we see him about every 3 months. my niece is 5 and P are BEST FRIENDS. they actually just left today and Pierson was bawling his eyes out when they left :( My brother called me saying Savannah was also crying in the car. They are inseparable when they are with each other, it warms my heart so much.

My sisters and BIL live out of state and all have only seen DS twice. SIL lives an hour or so away and has seen him more but is a complete witch so we don't see her often. DS is 18 months and I doubt he'd recognize any of his aunts or uncles.

My sister lives 4 hours away and we FaceTime when possible. Chloe absolutely recognizes her and asks for my sister often.

My brother & his wife live 8 hours away, but only moved there this past summer (August). So far. We've only seen them at thanksgiving, a trip all the siblings took to DC, and at Xmas.

We are all going to the beach together for Easter!

Chloe misses them & asks for them often. It makes me sad they're not local!

My lo has never met my sisters. My one sister never even mentioned lo by name until she was over a year old...so...not much lost there. Lo has so far seen my brother a few times a year (but at least two weeks there per time!) and would recognize him from photos probably...she says uncle when I point to his pictures but her eyes will probably pop out of her head the next time she sees him irl.

@Bookish: isn't it so lame? I am an awesome aunt to my nephew, but my sister really sucks. And now LO (at almost 11 months) is totally into stranger anxiety so he gives her the big fat pouty lip and then bursts into tears! Which secretly makes me happy :silly:

My sister and her family live in NYC and we live in Boston. We try to see them every 4-6wks, and we also FaceTime several times a week. DN1 (dear niece) and DD1 are 5mo apart and best friends! DN2 and DD2 are also 5mo apart but still infants, hopefully they will be besties too.

@cmomma17: This. My sisters live in the same city and haven't seen LO since Xmas. One of them is coming over today and I doubt my 8 month old will recognize her.

@mrsjyw: That is soo sweet! It's awesome that he is so involved!

BIL lives 1.5 hours away and we see them about once a month. We also FaceTime with him (along with his grandma and cousin) so I'm sure DS will recognize this uncle easily.

My brother moved to a different country and doesn't communicate with us at all. DS won't be familiar with this uncle since this uncle won't be back in the states until mid 2015!

My brother, his wife and their daughter live in PA. it's about an 8 hour drive between us. We see them about 3 times a year, and DS and my niece are best friends. Simply adore each other and never fight when they're together. My niece is 2 years younger than DS.

He has definitely always known my brother and SIL because he's always has had lots of fun when we're around them.

We also make a point to have DS facetime with my niece about once a month or so.

So cute! DD only sees my family when we visit, by and large. She does recognize them though because we use FaceTime regularly, and she has a picture book of them. We spent two weeks with my family over the holidays which helped cement a relationship too.

Well at the moment, we're the aunt/uncle. My SIL lives in NYC and we are in Ohio. Our nephew is 15 months old and we have seen him twice, the last two years at Christmas. We will probably continue to see her only about once/year, so I think it will take a while for her LO to recognize us, or ours to recognize her.

aww, cute.

Umm, my sister lives just down the road and barely takes the time to see LO. He's pretty much terrified of her when she does come around (she's very loud).

how often do they see them? Does your LO recognize them?

My lil bro (who Im extremely close to) flies home just about every 3 months for a week+ and at DS' bday time (around thanksgiving time).

He came in today and was greeted with the biggest laughter from DS :) (15 months now) He was super happy about the joyful greeting. Def recognizes and points to his "samchoon" (uncle in korean) now.
