I was worried about this too, but surprisingly, it was never an issue! We had white noise machines and they blocked out sound well, but even when we transitioned them to a shared room, DD usually slept through DS's cries!

Hasn't been a problem but I'm paranoid! I have white noise plus a fan/space heater going when they sleep. Sometimes I turn on the a/c fan if my toddler is yelling. :)

DD and DS share a wall and have a heating vent that basically connects the two rooms. I was all worried about it but it's been no problem so far! M was already used to sleeping with white noise and we have a marpac in each room.

I'm worried what it will be like if we have to / choose to sleep train though.

I'm wondering about this too. There is a random long hall closet that will be between their rooms but they share a vent that carries the sound straight through. White noise FTW!

Our lo's share a wall and we do not use white noise. They both sleep fine! I was worried as I thought DD would have issues but I've been pleasantly surprised. She has woken DS from nap before on purpose though :silly: Thankfully that is infrequent.

Our kids' rooms are next to each other-- I just make sure their closet doors are closed (their rooms are like mirror images of each other, with the closets sharing the same wall) when I put them down for naps or bedtime. They both have white noise machines in their rooms.

I started introducing white noise in my older child's room to block out the noises coming from his sister's room. I decided not to have white noise in the baby's room though so she can get used to sleeping with noise. It worked out well. She never fussed over the noises her brother made. He ended up being a lot more noisy than the baby.

Does DS use white noise to sleep? If not, I would start now! Our twins share a room and when we got serious about white noise they stopped waking each other up.

E's toddler squeals are H's white noise. Doesn't even phase him. We never used a white noise machine and make no special effort to be quiet during naps.

they're across the hall, but LO2 is in our room which shares a wall with LO1. LO1 hasn't woken at all from the baby..I'm shocked! we have a dohm in the hallway, but I still thought she'd hear her.

It's not been a problem at all.
The first week we were home my parents slept in DD1s room because DH hadn't set to the guest room yet. So DD1 slept in the nursery which is off of our room. Despite having a noisy newborn ten feet from her bed and me turning on the light every few hours to nurse DD2, she never woke up once.
Now she is back in her room, which is next to our room (DD2 is still rooming with us), and she's still not woken up.

All three of our bedrooms are next to each other, and I wondered the same thing. So far no one has woken anyone up & other than occasionally throwing on the bathroom fan to act like a white noise machine I haven't taken any other meaaures to drown out noise.

It has only been an issue 1-2 in almost 2 years! LO 1 can sleep through anything.

My LOs rooms touch. LO1 sleeps through everything, thankfully, because LO2 is up multiple times per night. I think LO2 is sometimes woken up by LO1 coughing. :bummed:

How did your LO#1 adjust to LO#2 sleep/noise?

DS' room and the new nursery are adjoining rooms across the hall from our master. We won't transition LO#2 until a few months, but just wondering how older LOs adjust to their new sibling's noise/sleep patterns.

Obviously one of my biggest concerns as a FTM to the 2 or more club!
