A bad morning pump usually meant my output would be low the whole day, unfortunately. I would still stick with my usual sessions though, and it would typically just be the odd day or few days off. I took the worst hits when I was sick, so if you're not feeling well, that might explain it. You should rebound... my LO and I made it EBF through me working full time, even though I didn't produce well for the pump in general, so it can be done. Hang in there and I hope you feel better!

@avivoca: I've never heard of the avocado before? What's in it that helps?

@LovelyPlum: When my morning sessions have been terrible, I usually tried to add another session to make up for it. That always seemed to help for me!

Thanks for the tips. I ended up getting 13 oz today, so not terrible. My morning pumps have just been frustrating. I thought the morning pump was supposed to be the big one, but mine hasn't been that way. Makes me think I'm not doing something right!

Eat an avocado and mainline the water. I've added an avocado at lunchtime to my diet in the past couple of weeks, and the days I eat one I am able to get what I need for daycare (12 oz).

Get a good protein snack (cheese stick, yogurt, etc) and chug some water and see if that helps a bit for the afternoon!

It happens to me a lot. I go through periodic weeks where my supply seems to be down. Illness can definitely cause it. Typically you don't recover since production tapers down in the afternoon. If I need enough to make up bottles for the next day. I stay up a bit late and pump after N goes to bed or I'll pump before work the next day. I also pump once in the mornings on the weekends to have more milk as a buffer in the fridge in case of bad pumping days.

Only close or during AF! I still pump even when I don't expect a lot.

...is the rest of the day doomed?

It has been a hell of a morning. I've gotten 5 oz through two pumps, when I've been getting almost double that by now. I didn't even let down until 5 minutes into this last one. I spilled my coffee and also don't feel well in general. Anything I can do to help my two remaining pumps? :bummed:
