I don't remember exactly when she grew it of it, maybe 4 or 5 months? It took a little while. I think what actually helped was using the car seat in the stroller. I was totally surprised that she preferred being in the car seat attached to the stroller, instead of the flat bassinet, since she hated the car seat in the car. But once we started doing walks with it, she started tolerating being in the car better. It made driving miserable. She also detested the convertible seat when we switched her. Eventually she outgrew it around 7-8 months. It got better around 4 months, I think. I'm not sure if that's what helped or if my baby just grew out of it. But then about 3 weeks ago, I noticed that he didn't cry when being strapped in anymore! Whoa! He'll still fuss occasionally, but is better when he gets his paci. He also started getting car sick as he got older, so that might have been part of his infant discomfort. It got MUCH better when we stopped using the infant car seat and switched to a Recaro ProRide - we purposefully picked this seat because he sat up SO HIGH and could easily see out the window -- which helped with the car sickness. We were able to leave him rear facing until after his second birthday. Also, double check that the straps aren't too low. I remember making them higher and she was more comfortable.
