I did! I woke up at 2am to pump every night to build our freezer stash (which ended up being small because after a month of waking up, I got lazy and chose sleep).

Yay! I've had no problems with sleeping. Does this mean B is STTN?

@sea_bass: Could not have said it better myself. Unless you find your supply lacking, you should be able to just pump when they eat.

I think it totally depends on your supply. Personally, I would err on the cautious side unless I was making a decent amount more than Lo needs.

@rahlyrah: I only pump 6 times a day and regularly go log stretches at night without pumping and I'm producing 36-40 oz a day (6-9 oz a aession) So I'd say it depends on your supply. Of you have a good supply, go for it.

If you notice a big decreas, You can just add a pump session back in (similar to a growth spurt when your LO starts eating more, I think your body will accommodate eventually and produce more again).

I pumped at 3 am for months. Only to build a freezer stash though. I would get tons of milk at that time!

LO slept through the night pretty regularly from 2 mos. I've never gotten up to pump and at 6 mos milk supply is still fine! I try to nurse on both sides before bed just so I'm not painfully full on one side in the AM but other than that, no issues.

If you get up and pump you'll be giving your body feedback you need more milk at that time of day. Unless you are having serious supply/weight gain issues, don't do it!

LO is 10 weeks now and he regularly goes 7-8 hours before waking to eat. I never get up to pump before he wakes to eat and it did take my breasts about two weeks to catch up to our new schedule and now I am not nearly as engorged in the morning.

I will, however, pump if I wake up before him (after his middle of the night feed, but before he wakes for the day) to build up my stash.

I would just enjoy the sleep!

G has been sleeping 6-8 hours pretty regularly for a couple weeks now, and so far my supply has been fine! At first I got engorged at night but now it seems my supply has adapted to it.

As long as you're fitting in 8-10 nursing or pumping sessions a day (the LLL recommendation) and your LO is having good weight gain and plenty of wet and dirty nappies, then you should be fine. Enjoy the extra sleep!

...do you wake up to pump?

Should I pump when LO goes 5-7 hour stretches? Will it hurt my supply if I sleep, too?
