I think they probably have around the same amount of stuff they had when I lived there. To be fair one of my sisters does still live with them. DH's parents have a completely empty nest and I'd say they have very slightly less stuff in their house... but not by much lol. They've still got our childhood mementos plus newer stuff my brother and I don't have room to store, plus all their stuff. It's interesting in this stage though because my mom especially is very into purging old books and pictures and decor and I'm in the stage where I want all that old stuff to establish our home and memories for LO. It's working out because she puts boxes in the garage and every time I'm over I take one home lol.
