My mom passed almost 10 years ago. I dream about her from time to time. It's usually just very mundane, but I usually wake up feeling happy to have seen her.

My dad passed 8 years ago. For the first while he was in my dreams all the time. He still is once and a while now.

My father appears in my dreams from time to time, and it's always hard. I wake up thinning that he's still here, and it really hurts when I remember that he isn't.

I'm sorry for everyone's losses. I don't have a parent who has passed but an old boyfriend. He visits me in my dreams quite often. I would say once every few weeks or so. It's usually nothing too crazy, just him and I hanging out. He usually tells me he loves me though. Which always makes me feel comforted.

Yes but my situation was a little different. I didn't grow up with him as my dad. We had very little contact until I was 14 and he passed when I was 16. He visited me in a dream a few months later to rectify some things and tell me he was okay. And he visited me once after I had DD2 and got to "meet" my kids

Yes, I see my dad in my dreams often. He passed away 6 years ago before I had kids, and I often dream of him with my girls as if they've known each other all along. I keep framed photos of him in my home and my eldest recognizes him as her grandfather, so in some ways the do know each other.

Sorry for your loss, and it is sweet to read the memories you had of your dad.

Oddly, no I don't think I have ever dreamed of my dad since he passed. It was a zillion of years ago when it was my last year in college. My parents were in Hong Kong and I was in the US back then. I was in Hong Kong for 3 months and we visited him every day in the hospital, and I had to come back for school. He passed shortly after I left. I am almost 100% certain that he came all the way to my apartment to see me the day/time he died. My mom called and told me he passed. My roomate then knocked on my door and gave me a hug. She knew. And she doesn't even speak Chinese and there is no way she would have known. Then the entire day, there was this weirdest "feeling" that I was somehow looking at his point of view and he was up there on the top of the ceiling, at a corner, looking at me. It was really bizzare and I can not describe it but I was looking at me from the angle he was looking at me. It was the strongest on the first day and then it faded. And that was that. Then after a while I think he was gone for good... and he has never came to me in my dreams.

Sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is hard :(

When my mom first passed the dreams I had were more her coming to me in my dreams to comfort me. In all the dreams I knew she was gone and knew I was dreaming to some extent. It's been 15 years now and I don't dream about her as much as I would like, but when I do they are just regular dreams that she just happens to be in.

It's weird, I have dreams with my sister all the time and it just feels so normal for her to be there in the dream. Then I wake up and it's always a weird combination being so glad to have seen her and so sad that it wasn't real and mad at the world that she's gone.

I never have dreams with my son Lucas. I have had two ever. I do wonder if I ever will.

I have absolutely no idea why isn't so different between the two of them.

Yes. Quite a while passed before it happened. A few years. My mom has visited my dreams several times.

For the first year or two, I used to feel my mom's presence around me at times, but this doesn't seem to happen anymore.

I think you will eventually dream of your dad.

I have been missing my dad since he passed last year, and am shocked at how quickly my memories of him are slipping away. I remember how his six o'clock shadow felt on my cheek when I would give him a hug after work. But he had such a distinctive scent and I can't even describe it - and I can barely conjure up the sound of his voice anymore.

The funny thing is, sometimes I do hear him... through me. The other day I was laughing at something and it turned into a wheeze of sorts (I was recovering from a cold), and I realized that it's exactly how my dad used to laugh. He would hold his laughs in until they turned into this wheezing laughter, while his eyes would twinkle from the joy of his little joke to himself. I went from laughing to almost crying in that moment, but mostly was just grateful to hear my dad again.

I keep thinking that eventually, I'm bound to dream about him and I can hear his voice then. I mean, that's a thing right - where people who have passed visit you in their dreams. But it hasn't happened yet, and so I was wondering: if your parents have passed, do they ever come to you in your dreams?
