My practice emphasizes that they work together as a team and you may see someone else along the way. So far, I've seen all 3!

My RE's office is fully flexible about which one I see. They have several "satellite" offices within a 50 or so mile radius of their main office. Two of them work out of the one in my town, so I see them both, depending on who is there each day. They told me they have weepy meetings to keep each other updated on their patients.

At my office I am able to see another RE for tests/treatments if my RE is not available, we also can go to any other office, there is 5 in the state of Florida, so say I was south and needed a quick blood draw that day or u/s I can go there instead! We also have had to go to the office that is open on Sundays when my IUI fell on a Sunday! I think they should be flexible!!

That is just crazy. I saw my RE for every appointment, except twice when he was out of the office. The other RE I saw was actually on my last monitoring day for IVF and the day he decided it was time to do the trigger shot that night. He gave me all the instructions and sent us home. However, my RE called later that afternoon to go over everything and ask if I had any questions for him which I thought was nice.

I go to a pretty big RE practice at a major hospital. the treatment appts (i.e. sit in the office and discuss next steps) are with your "main" RE. but I barely see him otherwise. whoever is there does the monitoring or testing, the nurses call me with results and next steps, a NP did my IUI today. and once I really needed to talk to the RE when I couldn't get an appt (they book 6-8 weeks out) he fit me into a phone consult day - they do those pretty regularly I think. not for big decisions, but for little things.

With my first clinic - they rotated through REs for procedures and monitoring. For consults they tried to get you in with your RE but if they weren't available they offered you an appt with someone else. With my second, it was pretty much the same, you could ask for someone but they tried to get you in with first available. Both clinics knew not to tell a hormonal woman going through IF treatments that she couldn't get an appointment because her RE was out.

That's crazy! For treatments, yes, they all worked together. Over the course of my treatments I had one main RE but saw a couple others in the process as well.

I only reviewed test results and decided on treatments with my RE, but procedures and monitoring were done by whoever was on duty that day (except that nurses do the IUI's).

At my second office I had my main RE who I would discuss the next course of action with, but depending on schedules my other appointments could be with another RE. I saw an RE at every single appointment, even monitoring, which I absolutely loved. At my old office I only met with the RE twice and I went through six rounds of treatment there!

There is only one RE in my office. She doesn't take much time off and it is never the last week of the month because that's when she does retrievals and transfers.

For treatments, they're done by whichever RE is on duty that day. I had different REs do each of my egg retrievals (nurses do the IUIs). I don't know their policy on meeting with another RE to discuss treatments, but I know that they have no problem with you switching to a different RE within the office.

My current RE's office would not let me see another RE in the same office while my RE was out on mat leave. Which is such an inconvenience! If I wanted to see another RE in the same office, I would have to see them 'as a new patient' and I had to specifically state I wanted a second opinion.

My new RE has one other RE in his office and they have similar methods of treatment, so they will cover for each other if they need to.

Curious what your experience was/is?
