The department store suit was a mistake; it didn't fit that well. He never wears it. The other two fit him perfectly off the rack. I guess their cut just works well for his body type. We also have a Hong Kong based tailor who comes to NYC once a year so we usually have him make one and some shirts. You can design the suit on their website to see what the prices would be for what you're interested in. If you can buy off the rack, there are cheaper suits out there, but mr. bird has an extreme athletic build so suits off the rack couldn't even be altered to fit which is why we sought the cheapest way to have custom suits done. They're great to work with. He just got his wedding pants let out this week. I would send him back there because it is darn near impossible to get him to buy clothes but they make it pretty easy. It was not the best experience. They had to start from scratch 3 days before the wedding because they screwed it up. I think we ended up paying around $300 just for the jacket and pants. There's an outlet mall nearby and we stopped by all the usual places (Banana, etc) but then we went into Hugo Boss and the salesperson found us the perfect suit right away. I've never seen my husband look so sharp! There was a 40% off sales going on and it was exactly $500 out the door for the suit, shirt and tie. He told me it was cheaper than the crappy Men's Wearhouse suit from 15 years ago (that was about $700 when he bought it.) I can't remember the experience or the prices. Well, we are going to a wedding next weekend and DH needs a new suit. I asked my coworker who lives close to me and she suggested I go to K & G warehouse. He got a Nautical suit, comfy black dress shoes, fitted shirt, alterations, socks and a tie for a little under $300. Not bad! The sales staff were helpful, too! The Yelp reviews weren't that good but after our visit yesterday, I just had to write my own review. I would suggest it! Where do you go?
