@Mrs. Jacks: That's good to know! I wish LO's pediatrician would have told me that so I stop running him to the doctor every time his snot turns green!

green = fighting the infection, so I think it's better than the clear runny noses which just irritates her nose and surrounding skin from all that blowing.

@Mrs. Jacks: That's helpful to know! What if the green snot is in conjunction with a fever? :)

My son has the same exact thing going on and he's teething canines. Since I'm a new mom (ha!) i took him to the doctor and they said just use the aspirator and make sure he doesn't have a fever. It's been going on for around two weeks as well.

Green snot means the infection fighting cells are there and working. We aren't so concerned about green snot the way parents are :)

I would call. 3 weeks is a long time, and green usually means there's some sort of infection. I would just want to be sure it wasn't in LO's ears.

How long would you let the green snot continue before you call/visit the doctor?

LO has had thick green snot for most of three weeks now. Some days it's lighter than others but it has run consistently for the last two days. I'm really not sure if it is the same runny nose or different colds (?) back to back. She is teething (K9s) but other than that I don't see signs of any health issues (no fever, tiredness, lack of appetite, cough). LO is almost 2 and in daycare. Daycare says nobody else has been sick and they usually tell me when something is going around.

Do I keep waiting for more symptoms or has it been long enough that I should call?
