I always ask him before putting Jammie's on but I do always oblige when he asks to go. I tell him if he lies about it then he won't get a song at bedtime.

When she asks we always take her. But we let her know that if she lies she won't get her bedtime song and we will immediately leave the room. Doing that plus going potty right after story helped greatly decrease that stall tactic!

Thanks for making this thread - I hope someone has a good tip!

@IcebergMom: I do this too! I'll let her go but try not to engage much and stand outside the door instead of with her like she wants.

She remembers it as a tactic to stay up every other night. So annoying!! She's 3. I try to make it super unexciting by letting her go but not talking to her and reminding her it's still quiet time. I also make going "final pee and poopy" a big deal before book reading. But we obviously don't have it figured our yet

Do you always let them use the potty (after the first or second time) or do you just continue with the regular bedtime routine?
