I think it's been in the past month or two he's dropped to one at 18 months. We followed his cues instead of imposing it on him. We had a couple tough weekend naps or 45 minutes of playing in his crib before pushing it back to one, longer nap. At daycare, he does one nap with the older kids (by 6 months), but only recently.

I don't think 15 months is late at all! The typical range is 15-18 months...LO went to 1 nap at right around 15.5 months--he just refused to take his 2nd nap. It has been pretty painful and he can't really stay up beyond 12pm. And he only naps 1.5 hours. But I know A has been a champ sleeper, so I bet when he does transition it will be much better!

i don't know if this will be helpful at all, but my LO went to one 2-hr nap at 1pm around 13 months with our nanny. however, sometimes on the weekends with us, she will take 2 short naps (45 mins also). she naturally gets tired at 11am and then again at like 4:30pm so its kind of awkward and interferes with bedtime. so we find that it is better to keep her up until 1pm and distract her from 11am-1pm. she'll take a long nap at 1pm and then be good for the rest of the day.

DD was 15.5 months when she started taking one nap. It was rough for the first month or so, while we were adjusting to the change, but it's so much easier now. She actually sleeps longer during the one nap than she did for the two naps combined.

charlie was 15 months. we pushed him to one nap but he could have gone on with 2 a little longer. he got more sleep on one nap though and everyone was happier.

olive was pushed to 1 at 17 months at daycare. she too could have gone on with two naps, but at that age it really is easier when they're on one. it takes a little while, but they adjust!

how old were they?

DS is 15 months and showed no signs of dropping a nap.... until this past wknd where his two naps were 45 min, woke up fussing, and then slept for another 10 minutes... not very restorative in my opinion.

he had one day last week where he slept two hours straight from his am nap and went without his pm nap and was fine at bed time.
