Water broke just before 37 wks but consistent contractions didn't continue; I was induced about 12 hours after my water broke. Baby was born about 5 hours after that.</p> <p>2. Water didn't break, I went into labor at 39 weeks about 6 hours after a membrane sweep. My water broke with my first, and I hope it does again. It did take me about 9 hours for contractions to start - they were almost going to induce. I really hated being induced and felt like I didn't get to "ease into" labour, it was full on from the beginning! </p> <p>I'm hoping with future #2, contractions start first.</p> <p>What was your experience? </p>
