Then we started mixing chapter books in more regularly, and ... whoa, adding to the list slowed down in a major way. I have the same qualms about the 1000 books list as I do about summer reading programs that count per book, because reading Goodnight Moon isn't the same as reading Charlotte's Web. Still, I like book lists, so it's kind of a fun exercise. </p> <p>At any rate, we're somewhere around 200, but I quit adding to the list a few months ago (couldn't find it as I was getting ready to take a bunch of stuff back to the library) in favor of taking a photo of the cover when we are done and about to return a book. Maybe I'll go back and write them all down on our list eventually. We started this a while back and have really been slacking. We are in the mid 200's (we aren't doing repeats), which isn't terrible for a 1 and 2 year old who don't sit still for long. I'm hoping to get through another 100 just this summer...that's my current goal! So then we will be at around 350 when preschool starts in September. </p>
