We live in a condo building, so by the time we are at our front door, all the snow/wet is gone. On the occasion we go in and out our patio door, we leave those shoes by the back door until they are dry. It's held up well so far after a year of daily use. Just know that it doesn't come with the screws to attach it to the wall, so we had to go out and get screws/dry wall anchors to install it. Also, I'd measure how high your baseboard is. Ours is a little taller than what is standard, and it keeps the bottom from being flush against the wall and not quite as sturdy as I would like.
