We've used that chair at other people's houses/restaurants. I think it's fine, but the only downside is that I have to pick up my daughter to put her on it, whereas she just climbs onto her Tripp Trapp by herself.

I love the urban, we have it in green and ditched the high chair for it at 2ish!

We also have the ingolf and it is easy to clean. The reason I liked it more than the urban was that it had rods on the side to help DS climb up the side instead of the front. We don't have to scoot the chair in and out from the table, he just goes up the side and slides his legs around.

@ReadItMama: I was thinking the ease of wiping the Urban might make it better than the Ingolf. And it looks like they stack- I’d probably get two to avoid future fights with the two kids. But i know once I introduce it the 2 year old will refuse the high chair altogether.

Plus Urban is available to ship, Ingolf I’d have to go to the store.

We used the Urban for our daughter for 2-3 yrs. - awesome, durable chair. We have the Ingolf dinning and bar-height chairs, but I'm so glad we went with the Urban - nice wide base, easy to wipe down + it gives our dining set a fun vibe to have the green urban with the black dinning set. I was just thinking the other day about when our younger daughter will transition into it! Just check the height with your table and your child's proportions.

We also have the Ingolf junior chair for our 5 year old and we've been really happy with it. Before we got it (when he was newly 4), he would sit on his feet and would never be sitting in his chair properly. Though he still likes to climb all over the place during meals, this chair definitely helps.

We have this one at our dining table. DS (3) only sits in it when we have like formal family dinners all together (Thanksgiving, Passover etc.) I like that it's like a real chair but at a better height for him, it's not hideous and it's very light so we can move it. However, since he can get in and out easily, he does, so the majority of the time, he's still in his lobster clip high chair at the counter for meals and doing playdoh and art.

@Foodnerd81: We have the ingolf junior chair for our 5 year old, and she likes it. It's not too bad to clean, but it is showing the wear and tear (which is fine by me). I sit on it occasionally, and it's fine for me. My only issue is that she tends to hang off the side of it. If the seat were a little wider, she may not do that so much -- or it may just be her :) Good little chair on the whole.

@Foodnerd81: We don't have the IKEA chairs, but my kids use similar Amish-made chairs when we visit my in laws. They belonged to my husband and his siblings growing up, and are great for the girls (who are now almost 4 and 5.5) - they feel "grown up", but fit at the table a little better. I'm in a similar boat to you with your new kitchen furniture (chairs/stools are "oversize" and my kids fidget pretty badly in them), and also considering junior chairs from IKEA.

Anyone have an Ikea “Junior Chair”? Like this one: https://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/00165213/

My 4.5 year old still does better with a booster than on a regular chair, in terms of not fidgeting or making a mess. My 2 year old has been fighting getting into her high chair and wanting to sit on big sisters booster seat but it’s a cheap one and slides around when she tries to climb into it. We also only have four proper kitchen chairs, plus a few lightweight extra seats- which are not good with a booster seat as my baby once kicked herself over backwards in it!

Trying to decide what the best next step is. I think a stokke Tripp trapp would be perfect but not worth the cost for my current needs. We have room for two more seats at the table. So the ikea Junior chair seems like a good option but I haven’t seen them in action. Also the Ingolf matches our chairs better but the urban seems easier to clean and store.
