@Foodnerd81: could happen! My son got sick a few days before a big event and made a miraculous recovery in two days which is pretty much unheard of.. wishing you lots of luck! If not... drug her up and try to get a nap on Saturday and just go to the events they need to be at during the day.

@Mrs. Tiger: I was thinking that too, just doing the Advil if they seem at all off. Usually if I let them have juice boxes they will go to town so maybe I’ll grab some more of those too. Good idea. They’ve actually both been drinking a good amount of water, I assume it feels nice in their throat.

@Foodnerd81: fingers crossed! Maybe do Pedialyte to push more fluids too... I would consider giving them some motrin just before the ceremony if they still feel crappy

So, newly cleaned humidifier blasting, saline spray up her nose, baby Vick’s on her chest, elderberry gummy earlier, Motrin and zarbees at bedtime... she’s going to sleep well and wake up healthy, right????

Just realized this is all my fault. I took her humidifier out of her room last week thinking cold and flu season was over. Obviously I was tempting fate. :crying:

I’ll try the saline spray plus humidifier tonight. And I just picked up zarbees cough and mucous nighttime or something like that to try. And the whole family is taking elderberry!

awe we always give zarbees before bed to sooth throat and get that mucus moving. and Tylenol/Motrin if they are feeling crummy too.

Oh no! Lots and lots of fluids, just give them whatever they like to drink. Don't go too heavy on milk though, it soothes the throat but can increase congestion. If they'll eat onion or garlic, that also helps. Hope they feel better soon!!!

After a month or more of two healthy kids, of course a few days before my sister’s wedding, both my kids have a cold. My 2 year old in particular is pretty miserable, just stuffy, runny nose, coughing. We leave Friday for the wedding, wedding is Saturday night, she probably won’t get to nap on Saturday, so adding sickness to the whole thing is not in the plan.

Any recommendations to help her kick the cold asap? Or at least manage the symptoms better? Her 4 year old sister also has a stuffy nose but seems a lot better than the 2 year old. I gave them both elderberry syrup gummies and have to go out and buy more. Anything else?
