@Boogs: Now my favorite time of day is when she goes to sleep because my husband holds her up for me so I can get lots of smooches in!

@Andrea: Yeah I tell her all the time. Hubby thinks I'm crazy because I narrate everything to her. But I feel like how will she know if I don't tell her?

@joyjoy: Oh no, you're poor aunt! I'll have to be extra careful when I can pick LO up again... she's quite large too.

She wont forget you! My aunt went through something similar. She actually dislocated something from carrying her very large baby, and she was restricted from holding him for quite a while. Her son still knew she was Mommy. *hugs*

She won't! I worried about this with daycare. They know their mama's!

Awww, that is such a bummer. Hang in there. I would explain to her that mommy doesn't feel good right now and can't hold you but I will be better soon and then I will hold you lots and lots. *hugs*

She won't forget you! I'm sure she's just happy to at least see you every day. :) Plus, even though you can't hold her, I bet she still enjoys the hugs and kisses.

@BabyBoecksMom: So far I've been feeling pretty crappy so I just lay on the couch all day, or go in her room while she's rolling around on the floor. But I sit in the chair instead of getting on the floor with her. When I start feeling better I'll be able to hold her as long as she's not too wiggly, feed her, hopefully give her a bottle, etc. My husband keeps saying that I can do these things.... but it's not the same as taking care of her by myself all day every day.

This makes me so sad to read. I can't imagine how hard that must be for you. :-( Are there activities that you can do during the day that will give you more face time with your LO??

Ok, I know she won't forget me since I'm still with her every day, but I'm afraid she'll forget I'm her Mommy and the one who takes care of her all the time. I can't pick her up for a month because of a surgery I just had, so my mom takes care of her during the week and hubby on nights and weekends.

Mrbee just wrote a post about how do kids know who their Mommy and Daddy are, and I know most people spend lots of time away from their kids to work and they still know. But of course I still worry :(
