I can relate! We have a lot of things we want to do before we TTC, so it will probably be 3 years. That seems so long away! But I just think about how fast the past 2 years of marriage have gone by, and that helps me get through. I also have moments all the time where I have to consciously tell myself - "Stop, and enjoy this! It won't be like this when you have kids." It's hard but I am really trying to enjoy our childfree life right now so I will be that much more ready for babies. :)

I can sympathize. I felt like everyone I knew got pregnant within a few months of getting married, and we are a young couple! We did go on a few trips and try to enjoy our time together, but it was just hard. There are a few things you can start doing pre-ttc so that makes it feel more real though! :)

Thanks ladies. You are right in that this next year I can live just as a married couple and know that in the back of our minds. It's just hard to wait! The good thing is that none of my friends are even engaged/married so it's not like people are popping them out all around me!

@mrbee: We would, but my husband will be in a different state 10 weeks this summer because of his fellowship and he won't get any time off when he is there. I am going to use my time off to visit him, and I don't have much since I just started my job in November, so it is tricky. I think something will come up that is exciting and distract me, but right now there is nothing. I'm dying for my brother or my best friend to get engaged.

I am right there with you. In our case we are waiting for DH to finish his PhD and get a few years of marriage under our belt, so late 2013 is the planned start of TTC. The logical side of me is fully on board with this plan, but the emotional part of me can't wait to be a mom. I keep telling my husband I just want to fast forward. I have nothing "big" happening this year, so it is making the wait so much harder.

Oh, it must be so hard to not be anxious! The only advice/comment I can leave is this: Now that you know WHEN, you can go about and enjoy your time as a sexy married couple and do all that you want to do. It's like being engaged and setting your wedding date. And in no time, it'll be the summer...then fall...then the end of 2012...And then you'll blink and realize it's 2013! Good luck!

We've decided to start TTC for our second in about 8 months. I am anxious... but luckily I have my baby now to keep me busy and the baby weight that I want to get rid of before having our next. Is there another project you can focus on? Redecorating your house?

I've had baby fever for as long as I can remember. Before we got married we talked about waiting at least 3 years before TTC, if not 4-5 as I am only 25 and my husband is 28. The other day we had a frank conversation about when we will have our first child. He knows that I'm ready now, but he isn't. We agreed that we would start to TTC on his 30th birthday - October 2013. Now I'm just anxious for October 2013 to roll around and that's all I can think about! Anyone else know when they are going to start TTC and now can't get that date out of their head?
