you can wait out the regression, or you can try sleep training. we sleep trained charlie at 4 1/2 months mid regression (though his sleep was already bad before the regression). going into the crib awake will definitely make a difference as far as nap length. do you ever let your lo cry.... maybe just 5-10 minutes? they might surprise you!

I just wanted to send out some support! I remember you from the fall WB boards (my SN on there was Littlebean912) and my LO is right around the same age and we are going through the same things now with sleep (up all night and terrible naps). It must be the dreaded four month sleep regression. Do whatever you can to get some sleep. Does it help when your DH gets up at night? I think sometimes my LO sees me and associates me with feeding so then if DH gets her she goes to sleep again without eating. Just hang in there and hope it passes quickly :(

I tried the side lying nursing, and she refused to fall asleep just now! DH bounced her to sleep but she only stayed down for 20 minutes.

She haaaates her carseat. I guess I'll just stick to survival mode until this passes (hopefully!) I feel like I'm doing something wrong if I constantly nurse, rock, and hold her when she sleeps, but if that's the only way, then what can I do?

I don't even think she's fully awake at night when she's crying so frequently because her eyes arent fully open and I nurse her and she's back out within 5-10 minutes and I'm still full and engorged, but if I don't get up and feed her she just escalates louder and louder.

Same thing happened to us at 3.5 and 6 months. At 3.5 months I gave in and did the one thing I always said I wouldn't do "co-sleep". Around her usual nap time I would either put her in stroller or baby carrier and take a walk while she slept, co-nap with her in bed, or hold her in my arms. At 6 months I sleep trained her via modified CIO, because she started dream feeding all night since breast was so close to her. After sleep training we discovered she likes to sleep on her belly and that may have been part of the problem

My lo's sleep was great until four months. Now at seven months we still haven't recovered....she was up about 15 times last night. The only thing that helps is nursing laying down in our bad so I can sleep too.

I would lay down with P and nurse her to sleep. She took lots of naps on our bed during that time & through some of her other nap regression periods.... She had one last week b/c she just started getting on her hands & knees rocking. It's like she forgot how to relax & go to sleep on her own. Killer week but we did survive!

And yay to a 30 minute nap! Just gotta take it how you can get it! ;)

I just nursed her for like an hour an she finally fell asleep! I put her in her crib and she slept for 37 minutes. Better than nothing! I hope this passes soon.

I would just do whatever you can to get through this regression. I Ergo'd her for naps when she refused to sleep. That and stroller naps.

Sorry momma :( I agree it's probably the 4 month sleep regression, not sure if there is a whole lot to be done. Maybe try @mrbee idea of the stroller thing

This isn't a long term solution but I wait till LO is drowsy and I give him a bottle and it knocks him out for nap time.

For naps, have you tried the stroller? It helped save Charlie's napping early on!!

I thought I was lucky because LO started sleeping through the night around 8 weeks. She's now 17 weeks and for the past 2 weeks has been waking up 4-7 times a night! I know it's probably the four month sleep regression, and she's just learned to roll back to tummy pretty consistently, but OMG!!

She also refuses to nap.. like ever. I have to bounce her to get her to fall asleep, and then if I put her down she'll usually sleep for 10-20 minutes only. I know she's exhausted!!

She's still swaddled at night, but now that she's rolling I'm guessing I need to sto swaddling soon? I try to put her in her crib, rnp, swing etc for naps, nothing makes a difference. I tried putting her down dead asleep, drowsy but awake, after three yawns etc... If I put her down awake at all she usually starts crying within a minute.

Is there anything you did that could help me!?
