We also took him at 18 months (we're only 80 miles from Disneyland,) and the main difference is he was not afraid of dark/scary rides at 18 months but WAS afraid this time at 2.5. I'd see how your kid does on one of the indoor dark rides (Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad, etc.) and sort of base the rest of your rides on that. My son loved Dumbo, Small World, and Pooh. He also *loved* sitting and watching the trolleys and people pass by on Main Street. There was no line for Mickey Mouse (it was rainy for the morning) and he was in love with Mickey.
