We had a really similar situation a few years ago. Our apartment managers refused to fix some basic needs for MONTHS. Like, our toilet only worked sometimes and our gas stove didn't have temp knobs... and then we started getting shot at because people kept breaking into our neighbors place... yeah, we needed to find a new home ASAP. We only had 3 weeks though and we found a place that we ended up loving that we lived in for almost 3 years until we found our forever home. It was super rough but we managed. We made it work because we had to and in the end it was the best thing that could have happened. Not only did we find a better place, we managed to find a more affordable and safer place with management that actually cared. It was really hard to do but we were determined. </p> <p>You can do it and everything will work out. It has to. Even if you have to move in with family until it does, it sounds like that would be better than where you are. Hugs! Sorry you have to deal with this! I am so sorry. I totally understand the freak out. We have moved out of state 4 times in 8 years, and nothing-and I mean nothing-sends me into a panic attack and turns me into a frantic mess like packing. I'm firmly in the camp that refuses to pack unless things are sorted, been gone through for donation, and THEN packed by item type and room. I'm a very, very anal mover. I totally hear you.</p> <p>But I have a feeling that this is going to be good for you. Get out of that h*ll hole and go somewhere that you can keep clean (I hate it when things can't be kept clean. Another problem with moving). And, bring the puppies! Puppies make everything better.</p> <p>I don't know if you've considered this, but when we move, I usually get some clear plastic bins from Target/Walmart and pack in those. It's easier to do, and it's easier to see everything. Plus, then your stuff doesn't get the residue from cardboard boxes on them. Might make it easier, especially since you're moving in town. You could refill them then, too.</p> <p>Fingers crossed for you! DH complained about the drywall dust everywhere and how they didn't clean up after they worked, and how everyday they throw on more Spackle to patch it up and they drip it all over the carpet...I could go on and on. It was bad. She pretty much told me and DH that it was just an inconvenience that we'll have to deal with until they get it all fixed. Um...no.</p> <p>DH got so angry that he called the owner of the complex, and they kinda got it straightened out...but now we're moving out at the end of the month...DH just doesn't want to stay here anymore, cause he's sooo mad. He told them we're moving out at the end of the month...</p> <p>AND WE HAVE NO WHERE TO GO!</p> <p>I mean, we can stay with my parents, or his parents...but we're having the hardest time finding a house to rent. We really want to get the dogs back from my inlaws, so we're looking for a house that will allow us a lab and a golden retriever. But, there's just nothing in our price range that isn't in a shady neighborhood.</p> <p>I'm slightly panicking, but DH insists that we need to move out. I'm trying to trust him, I really am, but the small time limit sucks, and the idea of moving in with my parents while my stuff goes to storage until we can find a decent place just sucks.</p> <p>And, now I'm having to pack like crazy!</p> <p>Ugh :(</p> <p>Please just tell me everything is going to be ok... </p>
