I just want to add that my daughter basically eats three things and will not try new food. She'll lick it and say "yuck" or its "spicy" I got super upset today because I was looking at pictures from last summer when she ate spinach littles, chicken and other veggies...all things that she won't touch now! Feeding her is so unsatisfying! I know it will get better with age, but sometimes feeding a toddler is the worst! I hope he feels better and starts eating more. One thing my mom keeps reminding me is that their stomachs are small, so sometimes a little bit really does fill them up

@plantains: Thank you  I'm doing better as he's in bed now. I think the awful diapers + eating issues out of nowhere just took me full force today. I appreciate the encouragement!

@Kimberlybee: @Tanjowen: well, it's in a pouch, not a can so you still have to warm it and serve it in a bowl with a spoon. They have chicken noodle and a southwest one with meatballs. My DD goes crazy for both.

Aww, don't worry it will get better and as he gets older he will totally surprise you by trying new things. Try not to stress and just keep offering if you can!

@abbydabbydoodlebug: What?? My LO will willingly suck down a pouch, which is my backup plan. Going to look for those tomorrow, thanks.

@brady80: I've been sticking to the BRAT diet mostly this week and giving him a probiotic, but as the week as progressed, I'm thinking it's not a tummy bug but something else, ugh. Unless a cup of milk can really mess him up that much? Calling the pediatrician tomorrow.

@Greentea: @Kimberlybee: Thanks ladies, it's nice to know my toddler isn't the only one. And of course my two good friends have little girls the same age that eat everything. I keep offering but he seems pretty firm on a diet of black beans, peanut butter toast along with fruit.

I think it really got to me today. Feeding him has always been the "hot button" for me since he was born so I'm trying to tell myself this too shall pass...

@Kimberlybee: Just wanted to say that I discovered Plum Organics make soup! It's in a pouch in the soup aisle at Target. It's thicker than regular soup, so even my 15 month old could self feed. It definitely cuts down on the mess!

We have bad eating days too. You're not alone. My go to meal is chicken noodle soup (Campbell's or Progresso) and Mac & Cheese. I would just give her broth too if she isn't feeling well. She's been wanting to self feed for a while now so I have to let her make all this mess because she won't let me feed her. Hope your LO feels better soon.

DD is 25 months, all she wants to eat is graham cracker, fruit, and milk. I just keep offering a zillion choices on her tray... so today she did eat jalapeno yogurt dip with naan (yes, totally random), and pizza and cucumbers. Whatever works!

If you suspect a stomach bug you may want to try the BRAT (bananas rice applesauce toast) for a day and see if he feels better and has more interest in food. I'd cut out the milk, it could be upsetting his stomach. If it's not a bug, he could be going through a phase. My daughter will have data when she hardly wats anything and the next day she eats a ton!

My LO has barely eaten anything for the past 4 days. He was having very loose diapers and I suspected a tummy bug and cut him down to 1 cup of milk a day.

He will eat breakfast, a few bites at lunch, and then refuse dinner. He has about 3 foods he will gladly eat besides fruit and crackers. all this started last week. I do space out his snack times well before meals and it is usually fruit or hummus.

Just now he threw his dinner on the floor and I put him down and told him no, and he's happily playing in his room. Does this pass soon? Any tips ?
