@Elderberrygin: funny you say that- I was literally just pacing my block for a half hour (its really sunny and I wanted to stay in the shade so it was hardto walk farther). Then came inside, bounced in the ball for twenty minutes, finally got too hot and sweaty with the moby on, tried putting her down... And awake. Trying to nurse her down now- just give in baby!!!

@Elderberrygin: Yeah we have those days as well. I cry many days on the way home from day care, cause she hasn't napped and I feel so guilty cause I know she is tired.

@Smurfette: the crazy thing is, my LO will be acting exhausted, I put her in the crib, she fusses for half an hour, I get her up and she's completely recharged. It's like just waving her near a crib magically makes her untired. But she has to be tired at some point, right?!

@Foodnerd81: ugh. The newborn phase is soooo tiring. LO had to be worn for all her naps then while I either bounced on a fitness ball or walked around the neighborhood. I hope your LO figures out the whole napping thing soon.

@Elderberrygin: I don't know....this past Saturday, she cried for 30 mins, 10 hung out in her crib, 20 mins of crying, and then out for 2 hours. So I know she is tired. Day care says they let her cry for 30 mins and then will move her to the swing and she is asleep within 3 mins. I don't get it.

I would love 3 naps a day......not sure why they don't think they are awesome.

@Smurfette: why do they suddenly decide that their cribs are the worst places in the universe?! We just finished sleep training for night sleep and I was avoiding nap training because it seems so complicated and she was doing fine. But I may be nap training along with you this weekend.

R has decided that she won't nap in her crib. We finally got her napping in her crib at day care. And now, she will cry hysterically. She will only fall asleep in her favorite swing. On the weekends, only in the car seat or on DH or me. We are nap training, again, this weekend :(

I can sympathize. C is only five weeks but she sucks at napping. But she's tired and cranky so its not like there is anything else I can do with her so I spend more than two hours trying to wear her down to sleeping.

LO has been refusing to nap going on a week now. She's six months old and before this I could put her down after 90 minutes awake with her lovey, turn the white noise machine on, switch out the light and pat her for a minute and then walk out and she'd be out. She didn't necessarily take long naps, but at least shed nap for somewhere between 45 mins and an hour and 15 mins.

Now, she refuses to go down. I figured she was extending her wake time and waited for her tired signs to put her down, she'd yawn and rub her eyes, I'd do her nap routine and she'd just yell at her mobile (not cry, just shout and talk) for half an hour, occasionally rolling over and getting stuck at which point shed start crying. I'd go back in, flip her, pat her and shush her and shed be back on her stomach crying within two minutes.

I've been trying for this nap for forty minutes. She won't be nursed or rocked to sleep, she won't be worn down, she won't nap in her stroller. I just don't know what to do. I don't even know when to start her next nap when I finally give up and get her up. DH has come home to me crying every day.

I know she hasn't forgotten how to put herself to sleep because her night sleep is fine for the most part. I'm just about ready to do a full night routine for every nap at this stage as I'm all out of ideas.

Sorry for the novel. I just feel like an utter failure this week.
