I've been there. My cat died on our anniversary when we were away on vacation. It was very hard and ruined the day it happened, but we tried and were pretty successful at setting our feelings aside and enjoying the rest of our vacation. Perhaps you guys can find time to do something to memorialize him at your vacation spot? DH and I are both a mess. Not coming home until Monday. Not sure how we are going to be able to enjoy the rest of the trip. He was old so we knew this was a possibility, but I didn't think it would happen. I can't help but feel like it's our fault for leaving him with my parents since they didn't know his routine as well as we did or exactly how to care for him. And I feel terrible that my parents are the ones who ultimately had to deal with this. :crying: :crying: </p>
