@BelugaBean: Thanks! Yup, my picture is on there. I had to unzip my jeans because like you a lot of the marks are really low and don't show that often.

Yours look great. Mine started cropping up in the third trimester. They were below my belly, so I didn't think much of them. Postpartum, I get to see them in full force. They're fading slowly. With the fading, I noticed that I got them on my legs well. I guess it means that I've lost some weight there.

@Anagram: I think it totally is just genetics and your skin. I thought I wasn't going to get any because my mom did it and when I got a ton, I realized I have my dad's skin. Also, I know people who are much smaller than me and supposedly had a lot of stretch marks too.

Although, I was also kind of hoping that any stomach fat would just harden and would give me more space but it didn't. Like I said, I was huge at the end!

@oliviaoblivia: @BelugaBean:

Yeah, I think my sister was maybe just projecting (she was/is tiny, and super fit, and didn't hardly show at all until she was almost 7 months, and she got a lot of stretch marks.

But it's *probably* just genetic, so I'm sure I'll be getting them, too! I'm *not* fit, and definitely had a tummy before my bfp, and I'm 18 weeks now and have a HUGE tummy, but it's still a "fat, jiggly" belly, not a hard one, so I was hoping that means I have more cushion, so will need less expanding. LOL. wishful thinking.

@oliviaoblivia: That would be terrible! They didn't say anything to me at the hospital because I was more focused on my contractions but pretty much everyone in my last two weeks kept saying how big I was and kept looking at me with pity.

@BelugaBean: my belly was so big all of the L&D nurses kept commenting on how I was going to have a big baby. It was depressing when strangers would comment on how big it was, but worse when trained professionals who've seen every pregnant belly in town say something.

@oliviaoblivia: We're very similar! I got the hip stretch marks super early and got my tummy ones around 29-30 weeks. I never really got any on my boobs though. I wasn't super fit before pregnancy and had a bit of a tummy too although I didn't show as early as I thought when I look back. I do have a short torso though and carried everything in front.

@Anagram: I was not particularly fit (had a bit of a tummy pre preg) and showed early and got a whole bunch. I noticed the first ones on my hips at like 8 weeks preg before I had gained any weight. I had a bunch from puberty so I knew it was in the cards. The tummy ones showed up around 30 weeks and the boob ones showed up with my milk.
I had a huge belly and carried everything out front. I have a very short torso and I think that contributed to the crazy stretching.

Thanks for being so brave and posting this! You look great! I have terrible stretchmarks, and I'm sure to get more in the next 3-4 weeks before the babies arrive. It helps me to know what to realistically expect them to look like a few months post-partum. I keep trying to be proud of them in the sense that they are worth it because it means my boys grew strong and healthy in me, but right now, they just make me really sad. :( Thanks for the encouragement.

You look great!! I had about twice as much with Wagon Jr. After 2 years of healing they were all white! Even whiter than my actual skin so they looked kinda shiny but SO much better than the ugly, angry purple-red they were in the beginning. I had more stretch marked skin than regular skin overall. About 6 months post partum I got REALLY upset about it and took a really hot shower, loofahed it all, and used Bio Oil for about 2 weeks straight. I don't know if it sped up the process but I was pretty happy with how they looked before I got pregnant again.

Second pregnancy I got a few more up top (nearer to my boobs) but the bottom just re-stretched out again and stayed white! I was pretty happy about that and a lot happier with how my skin looked the second time around since it was just white, and smooth instead of bumpy! Now my skin overall is just bumpy but definitely not very red or purple at all. I do understand now why many moms get tummy tucks...! I have so much extra skin. But I'm almost 7 months postpartum so we'll just have to see what I look like in a year or two.

@Anagram: Mine showed up around 29/30 weeks and just kept coming. And I wasn't small or fit before pregnancy at all, I was actually 15 pounds above my normal weight which wasn't small to begin with.

@BelugaBean: They've faded a lot!

I have a ton of stretchmarks on my hips and some smaller ones on my breasts from puberty and they are totally white now. Luckily, I am super white and don't tan, so you pretty much can't tell they are there, except they are shinier than regular skin.

Just curious---did you develop them all at the end of the 3rd trimester? I assume I'll get some, I just don't know when they'll start cropping up.

Also, were you very fit/small before pregnancy? One of my sisters has a theory that the more fit people, or the ones who start showing/growing really late have more stretchmarks, since the skin has less time to stretch and has further to stretch.

The way I look at it, this is my Mommy body. And I'm proud of it. I worked really hard for it, 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 40 weeks (times two since I have two kids!) and I should be proud of it. My life isn't the same anymore, why would my body be? So I embrace my stretch marks :)
