@Mrs.Someone: oh yeah, low supply for sure, insufficient glandular tissue. It's easy to see it now that I'm weaning, I only seem to have milk ducts on the top on my breasts. At my best I could only pump 2 oz. For a while I was getting 1 oz hand expressing into a bottle. DS won't nurse anyway at all now and I'm ok with it.

Sure doesn't sound like low supply! Hand expression isn't a good indication. I'd get a hand pump and pump when uncomfortable.

I did the cabbage leaves and sudafed when I stopped cold turkey with DD (obviously that was a bad idea. I wasn't in my right mind). I think they helped! At least I felt like I was doing something.

@macintosh: I haven't done it since pregnancy did it for me, but it's the two things that I always see people recommend.

@catomd00: does that really work? Cause when DS bumps into my boob in the morning that sucker hurts.

I'm almost done weaning my 9 month old, but I still wake up daily with uncomfortable fullness.

DS was supplemented from the beginning to my low supply. He stopped nursing during the day months ago. He was bedsharing and nursing for comfort at night until a week ago. Now he's basically STTN in his crib (yaaaay!). I don't pump but I do hand express in the shower a bit. Any tips on weaning without too much discomfort? I'm so ready to just be done and stop wearing nursing pads all day and bras at night!

ETA: I should mention I got less than 1 oz when I hand expressed last week, so it's almost dried up. Is hand expressing in the shower just prolonging things?
