We called everyone based on the teacher's roster, which was dictated by the parent. It means "maiden" and is of Celtic origin. But we already have a daughter named Genevieve and I'm afraid the "gen" sound is too similar with both names. (Fwiw, we won't be shortening Genevieve's name to Gen.) What do you think? Vote below for whether you like it &amp; whether we should avoid using it. </p>
