I haven't tried running with my youngest, but I did a few runs/walks with my oldest when she was about 2.5 and gave up... Snacks helped for some of it and I gave her my phone to watch something when I was desperate (but then I didn't have music!). It became too much of a hassle, so I just run before the kids get up now.

I go on a few long runs per week (one 5 mile run and one 9-11 mile run). I pack their sippy cups of water, no-spill snack packs, 2 books and a pacifier for my youngest. They do really well. I also try not to run at times when I know they'll be in a funk. Like early morning works well or after naps. If I go for a run within an hour (or even two hours) before naps, they get angry and whiny.

Snacks and going fast are what keep her happy when I'm running. Also, I go to an actual jogging path so there are other people/dogs/etc for her to look at and be a little more entertained.

I have never run with him in the pushchair, but we are regularly on journeys of an hour or so when he stays in there the whole time (some of that will be on the bus, but he still stays in there). He does sometimes say 'get out' but I just tell him he can't right now and explain what needs to happen before he does. He's 23mo and not shy about telling me if he's displeased - so I think he's just used to it at this point. So I think it could help you maybe if it was more regular!

Terrible. When E was younger (under 18 months) I used to take her out for walks as exercise for me. Now she wants to get out and walk, which isn't exactly exercise because she spends the entire time exploring a small area! If I refuse, she kicks off.

The longest I've had my daughter in the stroller running has been for 50 minutes. She does okay, she likes to talk about what she's seeing, and when she gets annoyed, I break out the snacks and let her play with my water bottle (she LOVES my water). But ultimately, I tell her that I'm sorry but I can't do anything about it right now and when we get back, she will get to play at the playground.

My LO's seem to have a ten minute tolerance for me going for a run with the double stroller... At this point I only run about 1.5 miles before dying, so they're only whining/screaming/complaining for the second half, but I'm wondering if it gets better? We've only done this a handful of times over the past several months, so maybe if it's more of a regular thing?

How are your kids in the stroller for "longer" periods of time?
