I started getting watery discharge, which I thought was my water breaking. I lost chunks of my mucus plug slowly. Then I finally got my bloody show. Prior to that week, I'd had absolutely NO indicators that labour was imminent (no loss of mucus plug or anything) but then the timeline happened like this:</p> <p>Monday - 'lightning crotch' at bedtime, had never heard of this but apparently it is the blood vessels starting to rupture, as I read later.</p> <p>Tuesday - hated life in general. Had had a super easy pregnancy and wasn't even uncomfortable at the end, but this day, I was beyond miserable, grumpy, and hating everything. I also read later that this is normal and the body's way of gearing up for labour.</p> <p>Wednesday - woke up to minuscule traces of blood in the discharge. It was so little (like a pinhead sized drop) that I thought it couldn't be the bloody show, but it continued all day. Until then I was positive it was just BX and a false alarm. I had no other impending signs of labor.</p> <p>That morning though, my body did 'empty' itself and my stomach felt a little uneasy. Thankfully I was working from home because I had to run to the bathroom every 20 minutes. I also felt light cramping like I was about to get my period. The contractions didn't start until just a few hours before DS was born, but man were they painful lol. My belly started dropping at 37 weeks (I carried super high throughout my pregnancy), the week before she came I was in super nesting mode, and the day I went into labor I had this major urge to wash all my underwear and take a nap. Contractions started two hours after my nap.</p> <p>My chiropractor said that a woman's nose swells/gets wider when labor is imminent. I remember the day before I went into labor I told my husband that I had a feeling she'd be here in the next 48 hours. I was right! I lost my mucus plug 2 days before I went into labor (and it was bloody), had some bloody show the day before, and the night before I had really really bad diarrhea (in our childbirth class the nurse said that the body will often cleanse itself before labor). Things feel like they've been changing: pelvic pressure, vaginal fluid, more Braxton Hicks, baby trying new positions. </p> <p>Did you FEEL like you were going to go into labor, or did it just happen spontaneously? I'm so excited about these new changes (as long as baby waits at least 1 more week). BUT, I also realize that this is probably just par for the course during the last several weeks of pregnancy, and I shouldn't be getting my hopes up.</p> <p>So, if you really noticed big changes, what were they, when did they start, and how far before labor did they happen? </p>
