I set my alarm just to take my temp at the normal time I do during the week, then went back to sleep. I don't know why I got that spike last week, could have been anything, not sleeping right or sleeping in. Last month I had 2 days of + OPK and this one only one day, but my CM was different from last month, too. I guess I will just keep charting and hoping for baby dust :)

@babycanuck: the crosshairs show up once FF calculates three days of high temps. Not a VIP feature. If your temp is high again tomorrow you might get them, though your temp today isn't quite as high as I'd expect - did you get up earlier than usual today?

I had the VIP membership, there were some nice things with it, but it wasn't necessary. I got it for half off on Facebook. I wouldn't pay full price for it though.

@oliviaoblivia - thanks for this insight. I'm learning something new every day here! Do I need the VIP membership for the crosshairs to show up?

@babycanuck: for pregnany FF recommends 18 days of sustained high temps. Most likely you will have either had or missed your period by that point though. To confirm ovulation your need three consecutive high temps over baseline. FF will give you red crosshairs to once that happens.

As far as pregnancy, some women have an inplantation dip between days 7&10, some have triphasic pattern with another temp rise after day 10ish. But having all of these things doesn't necessarily confirm pregnancy and not having them doesnt mean you're not pregnant.

@babycanuck: hmm, i'm still new to this charting thing, but my understanding was that O spike was supposed to be at least .2 degrees over your highest temp for the 6 days prior, i'm not sure how that translates on a celsius chart. i've heard that sometimes your body can gear up to O, but then not, which can explain a + OPK showing an LH surge but not having temps confirm with a spike. but maybe you weren't feeling well & that caused a higher than normal temp in the days prior making your spike not look as high? not sure. i converted mine to celsius if it's helpful for you to compare, http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/293458/?a=5174524&u=1&

@mrs. bird: I still think it could be a post O spike because I was reading TCOYF recently and one possible pattern is a biphasic spike where you get an initial small spike, a dip and immediately a larger spike. Good luck!! I hope you get a BFP and sticky baby this month!!

I think you're right! Just remember that to confirm ovulation you're looking for a sustained temperature rise, so when in doubt wait a couple days (and keep trying for TTC). Also, I know everyone always wants to be able to (I do), but it can be hard to absolutely 100% pinpoint the exact date of ovulation. Sometimes fertility signs can lag one another a little bit (e.g. still having mucus the day after your temp rise as the CM dries up).

Just an update, don't know if it was standing up or that I wasn't feeling my best, but I don't think that was a post O spike after seeing today's! I've never seen O on my chart before, kinda fun =)

Honestly, it probably didn't make that much of a difference. As far as your peak goes on the monitor, sometimes I had a secondary rise (occasionally). So my temp would jump up a bit, and then really skyrocket on the day I actually O'd. Keep BDing - your temps will tell soon!

Keep BD and use this to conduct an experiment. You'll be able to tell in a few days if you did O and then you'll know if standing up affects the temps. As for why the ECBFM and temps might not line up, there's a margin of error. I think temping can be off by a day or two, for example.

@Bao: agreed! @mrs. bird: I use to temp after I got up to pee, then I read where you are suppose to temp right after you wake up, there wasn't a big difference in my charts. This looks like an o spike. BD and watch your temps. FX for you!

@ladybee: i guess i'm just confused because my monitor just gave me a peak today and i thought you got a peak you before you Oed but that a temp spike happened after O already happened, so shouldn't you get a peak, then a day or two later a temp spike? i was predicting O on monday or tuesday (last month on same dose i got a peak on day 16) so i feel like we didn't BD enough before =/

I agree that it's not likely to change your temp that much, plus you have two other factors (cbefm and OPK) to go by, so I'd leave it for now and see what your temp does in the next few days. Good luck!

I don't think standing up would change it unless you're super sensitive like that. Test out this week and see just for fun! Based on your one day of W CM, I would think you have ovulated, but I'm with @Katiew92081: may as well go for it one last time!

I would leave it and see what your temp looks like tomorrow. I don't think standing up for a few seconds throws it off that much. Also, since you have a + opk, it's possibly more related to ovulation.

Doesn't hurt to BD either way. :)

I did something stupid this morning & need advice. I knocked over the cup I keep my thermometer in when I was reaching for it this morning, so I had to stand up to get it. How much do you think that would throw off my temp? Of course it's around O time, so I don't know if the rise means I Oed or it's just 'cause I stood up for a second. Should I discard today's temp? I think we'll keep BDing today & tomorrow just to be sure. Thoughts?
