My LO used a different medicine but we always give it to him before he eats. That way while he's eating, he can't spit it up.

@blackbird: @twodoghouse: Thanks ladies!
@blackbird: Yes we always try to keep him upright for 30 mins after he eats or has the zantac. But agree sometimes it's hard!

@twodoghouse: yes, we started doing this. We give it to him mixed with a little formula in a medicine pacifier before his meal. That way I figure its at the bottom of his tummy to absorb and less likely to come back up with spit up.

I do morning, afternoon and right before bed. Usually I give it to Alice right before eating. That way it has time to absorb while eating and if she spits up after I imagine it's already sunk in a little?

i always gave it first thing in the morning, right before bed, and a bit before lunchtime. Do you keep her sitting up for a good 30 min before? we always had to do that and it was annoying because poor baby just wanted to sleep but it did help keep it down.

Hi all!
So after a few weeks of monitoring and process of elimination, the doctor has finally diagnosed my guy with reflux. He seems so uncomfortable all the time :-( Hoping zantac helps.

Anyway, since part of reflux is that he spits up ALL THE TIME, I'm not sure when is the best time to give it to him. He's supposed to get it 3 times per day. But he spits up for hours after eating so there really isn't a time when I know it's best to give it to him. Won't he just spit it up?
Wondering what others have done...before feeding, after feeding - how long before or after? If I wait too long after he falls asleep. Haha. Should I try to shoot it in the side of his mouth while he's sleeping?
Seriously - I never realized how many little decisions and concerns you have all day long as a mom!
